Knowing our spectators longed for the traditional oval racing, Rimbey Kinsmen and the Central Alberta Raceways began building their track. This dirt track sees several events throughout our racing season and includes modified car racing, hobby stock, oval legends and special events.
There is alot that goes into racing on a oval track than meets the eye. Oval track racing, and more specifically that on dirt, requires different tactics than your traditional road racing. One of the most noticeable differences is that the drivers do not need to shift gears nearly as often, brake as often or make various turning maneavours. However, drivers find that they have a preferred line around the track, and when other drivers interfere and pass them, that’s when the real racing begins.
