Drag Strip Committee Meeting - Thursday March 31, 7:00pm @ Rimbey Community Center (Kinsmen Room)

Continuing the success from previous meeting the Drag Strip sub-committee will be gathering again.  The focus of this meeting will be extending the discussion of attaining proper site drainage and exploring options for completing base work ASAP.  This meeting is open to anyone interested in assisting CAR move the drag strip construction to completion in 2011.

Tender for Drag Strip Sub-grade Construction Released!

Central Alberta Raceways (CAR) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to complete drag strip construction.  CAR's volunteers have contributed a significant amount of time and resources to the construction of CAR.  However a lot of work still remains, as such the CAR committee has decided to use sponsorship money to expedite construction through the use of external contractor's.

Thanks to our title Sponsor SJC Developments for sponsoring this event for the second year. The weather was great and the day was near perfect. Over 120 drivers participated and the overflow of spectators was overwhelming. A lot of support was needed to put this event together and to everyone who helped *we thank you all*.

Ponoka County has delivered most of the gravel they donated for base work on the 1/4 Mile Drag Strip. Over the last few months they have been trucking the gravel in on the frost and stockpiling it. The first goal will be completing all the clay base work this spring. Watch for work bee dates to be posted . Thank You Ponoka County!
